IN TOWN POUNDS

WELCOME TO THE NEW
POUNDHOUNDS WEBSITE!

Join us in helping the invisible dogs
in town pounds.

Join us on Sunday, September 14th from 11-3 at the Westford 4-H Fairgrounds for a fun-filled day in support of the invisible dogs in town pounds. Click here to learn more about our 8th Annual Barktoberfest. While you're there, walk a mile with or without your four legged friend(s) in our Walk Fur Dogs to help raise funds for spay/neuter services, medical care, and training programs.

Last year’s event was a great success – over $19,000.00 raised! Watch the video below to get a flavor of the day. We're looking forward to another great event!

Thank you!

The Animal Rescue Site

Although concrete is a common flooring for kennels because it is easy to clean and sanitize, it's terribly uncomfortable for the dogs to lay on. Even when mats or blankets are provided as beds, the floor is still hard and the cold from the concrete seeps through the mats. Some ACOs are able to provide plastic slats or wooden pallets, which help but still, it's an uncomfortable place to lie. Just imagine what a senior dog or one recovering from surgery must feel!

PoundHounds is on a mission to provide Kuranda Beds to every town pound in our program. Kuranda Beds are universally acclaimed to be one of the most comfortable yet durable dogs beds available. Please consider donating a bed to PoundHounds so we can provide pound dogs with the more comfortable beds they deserve. We got them off the street, now let's get them off the concrete!

A damaged heart doesn’t stop this little dog from Mattapoisett

Toby PoundHounds is paying for the medical care for Toby, a 12-pound, 6 year old Lhasa mix in the care of Mattapoisett Animal Control. His medical bills, which include three heartworm treatments and surgery for a broken leg, are over $5,000. We haven’t given up on Toby because Toby hasn’t given up on life. This spunky little dog has beaten all the odds against him – can you help us with his medical care?
