Memorials

People who adopt dogs from PoundHounds or other shelters or rescue groups are often looking for a new companion to fill the void left by a beloved pet. This area of our Web site is a place to honor those pets who gave their families a lifetime of devotion and joy. Or perhaps those dogs who never made it their forever homes, but were loved and cared for by rescuers and shelter workers who tried so hard to find those forever homes before time ran out.

Nothing can ever replace the unique spot these dogs hold in their owners' hearts. These memorials have been created for PoundHounds friends who have lost, but still cherish, truly great dogs.

If you would like to create a memorial for a dog you love or in someone's honor, it will be displayed on our web site indefinitely. Please e-mail a photo (JPG format) of your pet and the inscription that you'd like us to include and e-mail to info@poundhounds.org. Because it takes time to create these memorials, we ask for a minimum donation of $25. All proceeds go to help dogs in need. Please make your check payable to PoundHounds, Inc., and mail to:

If you do not have an electronic photo, you can send us a photograph and we will scan it in and return it to you (but please do not entrust the only copy of your photograph to the U.S. Mail and us...please make a duplicate that we can work from).
