Clint is a senior with energy to spare

At approximately 8 years old, Clint, a Labrador Retriever/Boxer is a love!  He has LOTS of energy and would love a large fenced yard and a person who will play with him. He loves to play with toys and his favorite are tennis balls and squeaky toys!  Clint also likes to play in water.

Clint needs an active person/family -- one who will include him in lots of activities. He loves to play in and out of water and go for walks. He would be an excellent walking/jogging/hiking partner.

He is a friendly guy, but sometimes unsure of new people at first. He needs time to get to know new people. SLOW introductions are a must!

Clint may prefer to be the only pet. He has been waiting for a long time for a new home and family -- he deserves to be the sole recipient of all your love and attention.

We recommend older children. Clint is housebroken, but could benefit from obedience training.

Clint is neutered and up-to-date on his routine shots.

UPDATE 4/9: Jo-Ann Laughlin of Silver City Canine Training has offered FREE OBEDIENCE CLASSES for the person/family who adopts Clint!

***SPECIAL UPDATE: A wonderful woman named Helen, has offered to reimburse $100.00 towards the adoption fee for Clint!***

If you'd like to find out more about this wonderful dog, please contact the Taunton Animal Shelter at 508-822-1463 or email at paws4blue@aol.com.

Cheech has the heart and strength of a lion

Cheech is a 4-year old Am Staff mix (or possibly purebred). This handsome boy lives up to the reputation of being intelligent and eager to please. Before he was taken by animal control, he used to wander loose in the neighborhood but he never bothered anyone. He is very food-oriented, but not food aggressive. He will, however, swallow a bone whole if he thinks you’re going to take it away from him! He has been in the pound for a long time, but he is remarkably good-natured. He is reserved around new people, but mostly seems to ignore them. He keeps his kennel neat, and has never had an accident inside. When Maureen told him to “go pee,” he happily trotted off to find a spot to lift his leg. Good Cheech!

As you can see in these photos, he was completely captivated by the new toys we brought him, but he was very gentle with them. We don’t think he’s had much experience with toys. After awhile he discovered that he could pick the goose up and make it squeak, and that completely delighted him.

He wrapped himself up in the blanket and after an excitable exploration around the grounds of the pound, he plopped himself down on the blanket. He nuzzled the bear, and eventually put his head next to it for a nap.

Cheech is a dog with great potential, but he needs training. He would love to go for walks every day and ride in the car, but at 80 pounds he is a handful. We are looking for someone who would love to work with Cheech and a qualified trainer. While he is not necessarily a high-energy dog, he does need exercise. We are looking for an owner who will take him for long walks every day, and ideally give him a fenced yard (not an electronic fence) to run around in. Because of his size, we do not recommend a home with young children. He does not seem to care about other dogs, but again, given his size, we would prefer a home where he is an only dog. Cheech is neutered and up to date on his shots.

Cheech is currently in training, for more information, contact Nancy @ 603-942-5988
