Adopting A Puppy
DID YOU KNOW?
Nearly half of all puppies purchased as pets in the U.S. are given to shelters, passed on to friends, abandoned, or put to sleep within their first year.

Please! If you're thinking about adopting a puppy, do your homework first.
According to Dr. Stanley Coren, author of Why We Love the Dogs We Do, the best matches of dogs and families occur when the family's lifestyle and personality fits the temperament the dog.
If your child saw "101 Dalmatians" and wants a Dalmation puppy, consider this: Dalmatians were bred to run beside carriages and circle and guard them when they stopped, but a good watchdog is often suspicious, unfriendly, and territorial.
Please take time to assess the personality traits of a breed before you get a puppy. Any breed rescue group would be happy to help you decide if their breed is right for your family. If you don't know who to call, call us and we'll try to put you in touch with the right person.
