PoundHounds serves a unique need in the animal welfare community. No other organization is focused on providing direct, grassroots support to Animal Control Officers (ACOs) and municipal town pounds and shelters.  We work closely with Animal Control Officers (ACOs) and other rescue groups and shelters to help care for and place abandoned, abused or surrendered dogs in shelters and town pounds and provide medical care and spaying/neutering to counteract pet overpopulation.
